Karma's - What experience have you had ?

So have you done a good deed & something happened back at ya ? Or did you do something you felt good about & wanna share ?

This is one of mine.
.
I sold off a receiver i picked up from a storage unit & the buyer was talking about some Cerwin Vega 15in speakers he had with bad foam surrounds & i told him ive only done probably 30 of them (im not perfect-willing to try) & i told him if he bought the foam-id do them free. He whipped out the 20bucks as i ordered the foam on my Ebay acct in front him & they were on there way to me. He brought me the 2-15in CV's the next day & a week later i called him & said they were ready. He asked about what he owed & i said nothing. He came back to pick them up & brought me a big jar of his very own Maple Syrup that he makes on his farm in his boilroom-as he called it. He is also the Town Public Works foreman for a town out in the boondocks up here in Maine 50miles away. Super nice guy. As he left he told me to buy some Vanilla ice cream & put that syrup on top of it. Well ive been enjoying :) the vanilla ice cream with good ole Maine maple syrup on it every time i have ice cream. Sorry for babbling on here. But experiences like this i will always remember. Any time i run across someone needing help im there.

If I decide to upgrade my gear, I usually give away my old gear to someone who can use it.

When I upgraded my gear in 1990, I gave most of my Sony ensemble speakers, receiver, cabinet and Radio Shack tape deck to a coworker at work.

I gave my old Rotel gear and my Parasound 1500 to my brother.

When I got my Sunfire prepro, I gave my Denon receiver to another coworker at work.

When I moved to Quincy, I gave my Sony record player and albums to my hairdresser.

I don't look for anything in return, I just want working gear to go to someone who will enjoy it.

I started a thread looking for good budget IC's. After some deliberating with members @pitdogg2 sent me a message and sent me some great IC's for free. He even covered shipping! I was really taken back by this gesture.

I felt like passing on the Karma, a friend of mine came over so we could listen to my SDA 2Bs. Had a great time jamming but he expressed how he wasn't satisfied with his Infinity HT speakers for playing music. I grabbed my Monitor 5s out of the closet with my Marantz integrated and gave it to him.

    1. We always share musical gear and passion (which not a lot of my buddies do) and 2. I couldn't just pass on the opportunity to convert another Polkie. I set them up for him and he fell in love.

P.S. I was on my way home the other day from work (25 min drive in 110 degree heat with no AC) and I saw an older lady struggling to get a spare donut on her car. Even though it was HOT and I wanted to go home to sweet tunes and a cold beer I had to stop and help her out. Got her car jacked up, tire on and old tire in the back in 15 min while she sat inside the AC of the gas station.

I didn't do it to gain something from her or even asked for a drink. Sometimes it just feels good to help someone out no matter how large or small.
