Last night I went to CC for a CD. I decided to look at the new speakers while I was there. The first thing I see is a open box set of RTi70's, not a mark on them. So I fire them up. Perfect sound!!. Needless to say I spend the next 30 min. Trying to get some help. Walked out of there with new 70's for 139.00 each.

I now have 5 rooms with Polks!! They will go in our workout room.

I know what you mean, this hobby is like heroin. I went to CC today to get a cheap DVD player for my son, found one for $29. Needless to say I had to float over the the speaker section and check for any open box deals. Thank God there weren't any because I would get kicked out of the house by my wife.

That's an ongoing burning question. Better stated, "Is Polk's APPEARANCE in CC hurting it's reputation?"

I say YES, and even said that to a CC sales person. The next question is WHY is Polk there? And why do they stay there?

well if they arent at CC then we all will be paying full retail at some fancy Hi-Fi shop.. if we even have one nearby who would carry the Rti series,, so lets keep them in the CC's for now..

Well I would say kick them out of CC. Put them back into HI / FI stores, let Crutchfield sell them also. Then look for Crutchfield to reduce stock at times..... And must say Crutchfield gives me better customer support then any store has.

But I can say like to talk / work directly with people too. :D

If Polks had not been in CC, I would not own the three pairs that I have today. There would be many more like me in the same boat. I say screw the folks that stick up their noses at Polk because they are sold at CC...Their loss...Not mine!

CC needs to buck up and carry the full polk line, there is no where close to here except in ashville to go demo the lsi's.....now that sucks.

I bought mine about 2-3 months before all the price drops; I paid $399 each. So I would definitely say the low price of the close out old models do not effect the greatness of Polk being sold in CC. Hell now I work there and feel stupid for paying that price

Yup, CC is why i have Polks... They just don't sell Lsi's because they have a hard enough time selling the top priced Rti, much less an Lsi system.. People mostly going to CC are going to get sold something, speakers, gear what have you.. they arent going like us with a game plan, reason and model numbers..

I bought a pair of open box 70's at the CC in Brentwood, TN (Cool Springs area). They were $209 each. How do you get them down to $139? Were they already marked that low, or did you ask them for more discount?

I have never seen the Ls series in person. I'm not sure if there is anywhere in the Nashville area that sells them or not.
