Long time ago I gave a guy this amp for use in his pole barn.
Now it's back, has an awful hum when powered on.
I took off the top, sides and rear, could not figure out what the heck was going on.
I then noticed where the two rear rca jacks are soldered thru the board looked funny.
One of the soldered pins was a tad longer than the other one and right under this pin was part of the chassis. I wondered if it was touching the chassis in any way.
I did not want to start taking out boards and sure as heck did not want to get out the solder gun.
So I decided to attempt to file down the edge if it could be done.
My smallest file did not fit between the board and the chassis.
Then I thought of my wife, always maintaining her finger nails, went to her stash of nail polishing stuff and found a very thin finger nail file that fit perfect between the chassis and the part in question, filed it down, blew out any shavings left, put her back together and now plays fine with no hum.
A finger nail file to the rescue, never would have guessed that...

Good work, rocker, I've filed this away in the ol' steel trap for if the situation arises.
