...and it's not what you think. It's the new Xbox One Slim that's coming out this year. $299 Will play UHD Bluray discs as well as stream 4k from Netflix and such, plays video games, streams video from your NAS or from a USB hard drive. Lots of functionality for $299

    You can use an USB 3.0 drive.

    This is what I was waiting for. Looks like my original xbox 360 will finally retire.
    Hopefully it will carry the backwards compatibility to play xbox 360 games.

    I haven't really followed the announcement, but does it come with a 4K capable drive or is it just the 4K streaming device? If it doesnt support 4K discs, then I might just wait a longer.

    Yes it will play discs and yes it will be backwards compatible to 360.

    Seems like an upgrade for me then.
    UHD Discs and backwards compatibility to 360. Now I have to buy a 4k TV, lol.
