45 rpm vinyl albums

I just received Clapton's latest release and only had a chance to listen to the 1st record of the 2 record set. This is the 1st time I've spun a 45rpm full size record and I'm not sure how others sound, but this one....WOW! Great mastering here: soundstage, depth, etc etc. Dead silent between tracks too except I could hear a slight tt rumble(I really had it cranked up). I'm going to have to search out others If this is indicative of what fast records can do.
Yep, my name really is Bob.
Parasound HCA1500A(indoor sound) and HCA1000(outdoor sound), Dynaco PAS4, Denon DP1200 w/Shure V15 Type V and Jico SAS stylus, Marantz UD7007, Polk L600, Rythmik L12 sub.

You'll get hooked on 45's for the WOW factor. Normally a 45rpm will run you in the neighborhood of $50. I was surprised this one was almost half that price and YES it has the WOW factor!

I'm hoping the Abbey Roads half speed mastered John Martyn album that just arrived today sounds as good. It cost almost twice as much as Clapton's...can't imagine it will sound twice a good :) ...as good will be good enough. Gonna def look into Brothers In Arms too.

I do enjoy a nicely pressed modern record release.

I always forget to switch to 45rpm whenever I'm playing one of those albums :s

Does anyone else feel like the sides run out too fast on them?
I can't decide which I like more - messing about with the table and stuff, or whether I would prefer to have longer play between flips...

I hate messing with my table... I am terrified of breaking the cantilever on my Titanium. :o

That's the only thing I don't like. On average you only get 3 songs a side. Seems like I just get comfortable and enjoying the tunes and have to flip the record. I'm thinking about getting one of these for when I fall asleep. http://www.integrityhifi.ca/

I picked up a couple of 45s last weekend. The new Eric Clapton sounds really good. The wife picked Ed Sheeran 'X' on 45. I was really surprised by how good it sounds also.

because it's on 45 or because it's Ed Sheeran?
