4 or 8 Ohm for RTI12 with Tube Amp??

Hi all. I've had the RTi-12's for a while powered by a Yaqin 30L tube amp (55wpc). It does better then i thought driving the Polks but i got to wondering if they would be better using the 4ohm tap on amp instead of the 8?

Anyone have opinions on this? Will it hurt anything to try it? Thanks in advance.

Nice amp. It won't hurt anything by trying it on the 4 ohm taps.

In very general terms it appears that Yaqin uses the 8 ohm tap for the direct connection to the negative feedback loop. Again, in general terms this means that the 8 ohm tap might have slightly better overload characteristics than the 4 ohm tap, meaning the distortion would be lower until it reaches full output and distortion begins to rise. The 4 ohm tap would benefit a bit less from the negative feedback but might have a slightly tube-like thickness in the mid-range.
Try both and see which you prefer.
