    I have a Phillips GA 406 that I'll part with for no more than half that amount. South east PA, so I'm pretty sure we won't have to ship.

    Mmm - a fairly uncommon but quite nice tt (and a fully automatic one, at that); a GA406 would be an excellent deal at a C-note, I'd opine, in good working order.
    A question, if I might, on behalf of the OP :-)
    Does it have a cartridge installed and/or does it have the cartridge "sled"?

    (I'd just have to figure out where to look for it).

    A "vinylengine" alignment diagram ought to work, though.

    The Ortofon should be a good match for the low-mass arm in the Philips.
