I'm waiting for the boating season...

We brought our little boat home a couple days ago to start working on it and getting it ready for the start of the season. I finished the oil change on the motor including the lower unit couple weeks ago. We made some nice custom doors for the glove box out of some 1/4 inch plexi-glass we had laying around. Figured out what size we needed and tossed em' on the CNC machine at work and cut em' out. We then picked up some stainless hinges and locks along with some black KRYLON spray paint. I also picked up a Kenwood KAC-5201 amplifier at Future Shop and wired it up to my Sony deck and Pioneer 6x9's that are sitting on stands that I made to point the speaker towards the listener. Nothing really fancy. All in all I think I am ready for summer. Can't wait, just a couple more days!

Let me know what you guys think!Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3

Outstanding. I bet you have a serious case of cabin fever?

    ATC,

To be honest with you, I would love to have some Polks in there but I would have to drive all the way to Toronto or somewhere far away, no dealer in my area.

    HBomb,

I don't really mind being inside, especially if I am in my room with my Polks and Paradigms, it's just that I love being out on the water, it's real relaxing.

And yes I know that speaker placement isn't ideal but hey, it still sounds pretty good. And yes I know the wires are exposed and I have boxes and nothing is really mounted because my dad does not want me cutting holes in the boat. I'm just making the best of what I got and I think I've done really well.

    Glemay,

Nice job, we have to hide everything down here because of the saltwater it can tear a system up quick. On other hand it wont be long before I am chasing these silver devils again.

Crutchfield is an authorized dealer and there are plenty of places online where you can grab them.

Nice catch reeltrouble1, that's a good size fish. Jstas, I don't really want to buy online, I just wanted a pair of speakers to give me some tunes. It was easier to just go to the store and bring em' home.

They look pretty good. The doors that is! They seem to match the rest of the boat pretty well.
