Mid-Fi to Hi-Fi decesions???

Recently I've found myself more and more frustrated by this hobby. On the Preamp I have the choice of switching in the output caps or not, high or low gain, high or low impedence output. Many choices of tube stages, cover on or off, aftermarket power cables, which interconnects to use, higher or lower output level to my amp... The turntable offers hundreds of choices of cartridges, hundreds of setup choices, weight, azmuth, cleaning supplies, brushes, cleaning methods, antistatic methods, etc... The CD could be of 50+ configureations between transport and dac, output polarity, options for transmission, power supply... The speakers can be optimised for bi-wire, bi-amp, diffraction techniques, positioning, room dampening techniques, etc... The power can be conditioned in many different ways, the power cables can be swapped around, There are spikes, isolation pods, etc...

I'm just tired...
