Press test on SRS 3.1TL

I am finally putting my 3.1s back together and tried the press test on one of them. Pressing and holding the PR causes the MW drivers to extend for about 2.5-3 seconds as they return to centered. Is this adequate? By comparison my Monitor 10s stay extended longer than 10 seconds. But of course there are a lot fewer drivers and penetrations in the 10s.

10 seconds!?! Unless the vents in your drivers are somehow blocked that simply isn't possible.

3 seconds at the lower end to 5 seconds at the top end is the range.

Are there any air leaks in the cabinet?
That should answer your question.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that there is always some leakage through the drivers. But how much is tolerable? How does one track down leaks? Spraying soapy water around the speakers while pumping the PR doesn't seem like the best technique.

There are vents? Where do I look on the 10s to see if they are blocked? I have one pair of 10As (Peerless) and a pair of 10Bs (formerly with SL-1000 tweeters).

As for the 3.1s, they see to be just below your press test spec. Perhaps the Armaflex will settle in with time.

The pole of each driver is vented through the dust cap.
