Wanted: Donations of Magnet-Shifted Drivers for my FREE Polk Driver Exchange service

I'm trying to start a service for Club Polk members where I will trade you a driver that I've re-set and glued for your driver that has magnet shifted and seized (but still has a good voice coil). It's a straight up trade for free other than shipping costs. I have some drivers to get it started but I'd love any donations anyone would like to make of either whole drivers or individual pieces like magnets, pole pieces, dust caps, etc.
NOT TO BE RESOLD BY ME. I WILL ONLY REPAIR THEM AND TRADE WITH SOMEONE ELSE FOR A SEIZED DRIVER TO BE REPAIRED AND TRADED FOR ANOTHER. OR BACK TO YOU IF YOU PREFER TO KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL DRIVER.
Basically what I have in mind is helping any poor souls who have been bitten by magnet shift and cannot repair it on their own.
What's in it for me? Nothing really, just the satisfaction of helping you guys out. I have 16 total drivers in service myself (M7, M10, and 3.1TL) and know how annoying it is to have a magnet shift.
I don't work very fast - but I built a jig to reset them and I'd rather to help those in need than try to do this for a profit. My process is to take apart, clean, inspect and straighten voice coil if necessary, epoxy the magnet to the pole piece, re-set the magnet/cap in my jig, let that epoxy set, and finally re-glue the dust cap.
It's about the music, after all. If you're interested in donating or in exchanging a seized driver for a good one, or even if you'd like me to re-set and glue your seized driver, please reply or send me a message.
Sometimes things don't work out, what I mean is, sometimes drivers aren't repairable, sometimes I get really crummy looking drivers in a trade which is bad news for the next guy, and other curve balls, but I think this has potential if we can all work together.
Thanks,
Ryan

Thanks all. I hope it can take off. Right now my 'rotating stock' is one 6502, 2 bare frame 6500s, and 1 black frame 6500. The 6500s are soon to turn into a bare 6500, a 6501, and another 6502. Also have a spare magnet and pole piece from a 6500 that had an open voice coil.
It all started when I needed a 6500 to replace a magnet-shifted driver that came in my Monitor 10a's. The first two I bought off eBay both came seized. Frustrated, I bought a set of 4 which were guaranteed working - of course, they showed up seized. So I built a jig and vowed I'd use it to help others out of the same situation.Post edited by lawdogg onmy 3.1TLs

GREAT idea!
Although, you getting a few bucks for this isn't a bad idea either.
Sorry for the pain of buying used drivers that were supposed to be working.
I've replaced a few mid drivers with new one's from Polk. I know at least one of them have a shifted magnet. I'll look for the seized one's and donate them to the cause, if I can remember where I put them. -
I have a mw6501, I would trade in a heartbeat. Can't pm still so let me know what I need to do. Thanks.Main Rig:

The one on the left does have a shifted magnet.
The one on the right has no sound and I don't remember why as I loaned out my meter. -

I just wanted to post that I am one satisfied customer from this "service"! Ryan is great to deal with and the repaired speaker he sent out was done up really nice and sounds great.

This would be an amazing service, and if/when I needed it, I would insist on giving you something for your time/trouble. On the flip side, I'm trying to avoid becoming a customer, having just put JB Weld on my 6510s this morning...

I've got a few extras right now that are fine, I was just asking OP if he had any. I try to snag em when they pop up on the bay as well.Lexicon RT-10, Parasound P5, McCormack DNA 0.5, Polk SDA CRS+, SVS Sub

Yes thank you! I just sent out a 6500 today, and that's the last of my open requests for repairs / trades. I still have one 6502 heading back to me from the field, and my current in-house stock is another 6502, a 6501, and two 6500s which I'll be re-setting in anticipation of trades in the near future.my 3.1TLs

I'm preparing to retweet Monitor 10's with RDO-194's. Vintage 1988 speakers. Would it be wise to JB Weld the drivers magnet for preventive maintenance while I have them out of service? I've searched for this info but yet to find. Thank You!
