It's heading east building up steam and then heading southwest towards the Dallas area the Midwest was spared but the Lone Star State better be on high alert arrival of said evil wind sometime this coming friday. I highly suggest stashing your liquor and hide your hi fi gear.

    my wife is getting sandblasted even now "out in the west Texas town of El Paso"... she left at oh-dark-thirty this AM outta BOS on a birding trip.

    I, on the other hand, watched it snow in NH today - and I'm listenin' to the Dead on the Duplexs; no sand in sight.

    I must admit I was sweating it out last night. Trailer loaded with high end audio gear and high wind shears really don't mix. Luckily the worst of the storms were 20mi north, although my heart goes out to those who affected.

    Everyone please get in safely...for those who arranged Thurs. arrival, (Voltz, Lightman)...this was a blessing, as Friday maybe even worse than last night.

    The Evil wind had it in for deep east Texas last night. Tornado destroyed a Halliburton facility in Woodville along with uprooting trees to block roads from one end of the county to the other. Lightning strike started a fire at the German Pellets plant. About 75% of the county without power or clean water. A second lightning strike took out the generator at the local hospital leaving it without power for almost six hours. Frigging mess.

    I left a strip along the curb. Didn't want the city officials to come down on him for an abandoned property.

    Possibly a tornado or high straight line winds did damage just north of Houston in the Tomball area and also near Willis. One death reported in Tomball when a pine tree fell completely through a mobile home. The Houston area is just getting over a week's worth of flooding , mostly in the NW and N side of the city. Also lots of homes in the SW subdiv. of Meyerland got totally flooded again. A number of those homes were flooded last year around Memorial Day. Some neighborhoods still have streets flooded with water. Stay safe out there, looks like we have another serious threat Sat. coming with more potentially threatening weather.

    Tuesday we had up to 70mph straight line winds; it was insane. We had no rain or anything, just the powerful winds and a 10-15 degree temp drop.
