RTi10 blown woofer and tweeter question

I purchased a pair of RTi10's for $50. He told me he thinks that the tweeter is blown. They look like they r in great condition. I figured I could try to change out the tweeter. Anyway upon connecting it to my pioneer elite sc-95, I immediately noticed at high volume that one speaker the 1" tweeter isn't working at all, and the top 6.5" drivers on BOTH speakers sound very muffled and blown. So, I figure changing the 6.5" drivers and the one tweeter should correct the issue? Any suggestions on where to find or what direct fit woofer/tweeter would do well with these rti10's? I really appreciate any advice you have. Is it even worth putting money into? I prefer to fix as economical as possible without sacrificing sound quality. I'm a huge fan of the polks. I used to have the entire 7.1 lsi15's and dipole/bipolar speakers for surrounds. I've sold that system years ago and now am in the position to start piecing together a new surround system

Call CS at 800-377-7655. Tell them you're a forum member for a discount. Before you go crazy ordering parts I'd check the crossovers first to make sure they're not fried. Just a thought...

Thanks for your reply. How do you go about testing the crossover?

Mostly visual. Look for burnt caps and resistors..

That's a very good point that you could just have a bad crossover component and good drivers; worth a look!
