I have a 7.1 setup with a5's as my surrounds, 2 are beside me, the other 2 are about 10 feet behind my couch, is this too far away, what mounts can I use to bring them closer hanging from the ceiling? my living room is rectangular, I appreciate any help

I believe you meant RTi A1, yes?

Your calibration program will adjust for the distance by boosting the volume and adjust the timing. If they aren't loud enough, you can manually adjust the volume, but keep in mind it's basically ambient sound fed to those speakers anyway. They are not supposed to stand out.

  • If you don't have a calibration program, it's just a matter of trial and error. Some people like each speaker to have the same volume and others, like me, favor the front three speakers to be a bit louder and the backs/ surrounds a little lower in volume. Adjust them to the sound that YOU like the best not what some written guide suggests.

Ultimately, you are the best expert for your sound in your room.
