Vintage Boston Acoustics A400 Speakers for sale.
Local pickup in Denver.
These are very rare and are top of the line in the A series.
They are in excellent condition besides minor fading on one of the tops and one side of the base doesn't screw on to the MDF so it's little sideways.
Good thing is all 6 drivers (four 8" woofer and two mid woofers) are re-foamed so they'll perform like new for next 15 - 20 years.
They are very slim at only 7.25" (excluding the metal stabilizers) so can be placed against the wall without taking much space.
Dimensions: 41"H x 21" W x 7.25" D.
Sound: These were my best speakers for a long time.
These are with me for few years while dozens of other speakers came and went.
They sound very good and great for hours of listening.
Great highs, mids and lows.
I have few threads here on how they sound.
These are 4 ohms so you'll need something that can power them easily or bi-amp.
I really enjoyed these but just got too many speakers than needed in the house.

These are on my speaker bucket list. Unfortunately you're too far away. But I'm curious: How much are you asking for them?

Sought after, but odd speakers. I know that you have always coveted those! GLWTS!HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable
2 Channel Thorens TD 318 Grado ZF1, SACD/CD Marantz 8260, Soundstream/Krell DAC1, Audio Mirror PP1, Odyssey Stratos, ADS L-1290, ICs-DIY Twisted , Speaker-Raymond Cable -
I'm curious what you came across that finally ousted these. You've raved about them for years(with good reason).

Where is the price??
I have heard these at his house, and I fell in love with them... -
I re-foamed a set of these a friend gave me because of foam rot. Good God I didn't know you could cram that much Dacron into a set of speakers. Tweeters are there down side very hard to get if blown.
Very nice -

Oops... sorry. Asking $400.
Yes, they definitely showed door to many many speakers that came in my house.
BTW, they do have the metal stabilizers:

Dang I wish you were not so faraway. I've lusted after that model for years.--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -

I'd still keep them but just too many to keep.
I'm happy with Klipsch for my HT as my receiver can easily push them and for music/guest room, I have Sonus Faber Concerto Grand Piano and in basement, Epicure 20+. 20+ is not better than Boston but due to smaller size in basement corners for background music.
Oh, Snell E/iii is there to cycle if needed plus still have around a dozen pairs I need to refoam.
Main reason is space. The room A400's are in right now, I'm making it a movie watching room with PA horn speakers (spoiled by their high SPL ) and there is no other room in the house for A400's except storing them in basement.Post edited by Mystery on

Yes, gone but not forgotten.
Another pair may not show up in this area for a long time as this pair was the only one in 4 years.
Anywho, they are in better place with dedicated room and Carver gear.
Moving on...
