Hoosier's, Russman's, my 3000tl on ebay

Does this tweeter look familiar? This is the one that I believe Hoosier GAVE to Russman who GAVE to me and I GAVE to Trey's dad. It is easy to identify by the dimples. I try to stay out of the bashing, but this really pisses me off. I did not give the tweeters to him to profit off them. Trey, I know your not involved, but please tell your dad that he is a ____ (fill in the blank)

You know, the more I think of it, the more it annoys me too. Granted, Sid's dad is a complete toad but the more I think of it, Sid didn't do anything to discourage it either. He is the one who went to the forum with the need and agreed to take Jeffs (am I wrong?). He also, until called on it, didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with selling them.

I did not like putting that tweeter on EBay, and I am not sure if he still has the other one you gave him. I believe he melted it. I am sorry for my Dad's stand in this matter, and that he is selling them instead of giving them back to the forum.

I think we should bid on it, lets run it up to, say $10,000 in the final minute, then he can pay that ebay fee. We could also email any and all bidders, and let them know that the seller is a thief and a liar.

I came to this forum probably a year ago after landing an awesome deal at a local goodwill on a pair of mon. 7's. This forum has helped me on numerous things including purchases of some quality gear at decent prices, free knowledge I can only hope to pass on someday. Some people are just different and think its OK to profit whenever they can, no matter how it affects their relationship with others. This one stinks, the damage is done, the bridge has been burnt. You can add me to the list of folks who wont have any dealings with the perpetrator of this wrongdoing.

I have only 2 questions on the matter.

1. Did Trey make the latest ebay ad for his Dad, knowing good and well that the ad was for a tweeter his Dad received for free from a fellow forum member, as an act of kindness.

2. Did Trey's Dad PAY him to make said ad in question 1, as he has in the past, and did Trey accept said payment?

It was one thing for his Dad to accept free SL3000 tweeters via the forum, and sell the ones he already had - but to turn around and list the VERY SAME TWEETERS HE GOT FOR FREE? I can't even fathom trying to pull that off, much less even consider it.

Some may say this shouldn't be taken up on the forum. Where is the logic in that statement? Trey more or less was offered FREE tweeters (that had passed though 3 other forum members for free), and now they appear on ebay? Yes, Trey cannot control his dad's actions, but he can ALSO choose not to particpate in, and enable those actions.

Some people just don't get it. The non-chalant attitude about it all bothers me almost as much as the original act itself. This forum, and the brotherhood it represents is based on fiduciary relationships. Relationships based on TRUST, and a mutual respect for one another.

Most won't believe me, but this whole thing makes me SICK. I feel bad that Trey has chosen the stance he has. I really wish things could be different - but at this point, even if he showed an ounce of balls, remorse, or disapproval - it's almost too little too late.

It appears he has chosen to NOT take a stand for the forum, his friends, and himself. He chose not to tell his Dad NO - these are my peers, these are people I trust, and people I want to trust me.

Sure it sucks to even have posts like this, I wish these types of topics never had to be addressed. The facts are the facts, and I've gone over and over about it in my head - I can't find a postive spin to put on it, or a reason to let it go.

Are you saying people don't have a right to be pissed when when they get screwed by other forum members? I hope I am misunderstanding your point. For the life of me, I can't figure out where you are coming from. To answer your question, it would NEVER be acceptable to take the generosity of people on a forum you frequent and participate in and use that generosity to make a profit. Trey's dad should have passed them along to another forum member. No other option is acceptable. Again, I am not trying to bash Trey, I am just Pissed at the ignorance of his father.

To The Forum Members At Club Polk,
I made the auction, with bad emotions. And I thought about that auction all day, with bad emotions. However, I didnt exactly have the courage to go against my Dad and say no or end the auction. It took a little push.

I told my Dad he would have to list, pack, ship the given tweeters on his own.

Again though, I am sorry for what my Dad is doing, has done. Hopefully you all can forgive me in the part I had to start with, and I promise that I will have no part in relisting it when it is.

To me the gift is exactly that, a GIFT. What is done with the gift after the fact is entirely in the hands of the receiver of the gift. You don't like what the receiver of the gift might do with the gift after you give it, then don't give it.

I feel I must reply on this once more. The situation has been resolved, ended, and set straight.

However, if this situation proves anything to you, it should prove that if you just talk to someone and hear them out and let them hear you out, you can talk sense, or get them to do what they know is right. Treating them like crap won't help anything. I acted the way i did on here, because I knew on here it would be worthless. Useless.

Somethings you do without public consent. Being a policeman to the public, sometimes - is not a good thing. I can understand if they were selling something, buying - but constant bashing is not nessicary.

If anything, I am trying to say. In order to turn a new leaf over for Polk Audio, the forum and your friends around here. That we all, need to tone down the tatics we use to stop the bad. I fully agree with telling people on EBay of the bad that others do, so they can be for-warned. That their actions afterwards can be at their own thought. I fully agree with this.

But there is a time and a place for that as well. You IMed me. It is resolved, if you had not. It would not be resolved.

Hopefully what I am saying does not come off as a personal attack but as advice, in return of the help you gave me.
