Just bought a pair of polk audio sda srs 2.3 speakers for 1000 dollars . they sound pretty good , but would like more definition and clarity .I was told a cross -over upgrade and a tweeter upgrade would help. seems its going to cost another 600 dollars . wondering if its worth it

Do you see yourself keeping these speakers for a very long time or are you kind of iffy about them and already ready to listen to others?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

While not impossible, it would involve changing everything and I mean everything.
The original crossover parts were not that great to start with and have now passed their lifespan, so upgrading the caps and resistors is a must do as is replacing the SL2000 tweeters with the RD0194-1. If you haven't already, adding high quality spikes will help tighten the bass and clean up the mid-range.Political Correctness'.........defined

Upgrades are worth it if you intend to keep. May be what you are driving them with is inadequate. These should sound dammed good bone stock. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

using adcom gfa 555 . They do sound very good ! I think they could sound better in keeping the mid-range sounds separate as the dynamic range increases . sometimes it gets muddy.
