RTi6 vs RTi8 vs Rti10

Need some advice from those who own any of the RTi series listed in the subject line. I currently have a pair of RTi6 coupled with a Sony ES receiver and Pinnacle Subsonic subwoofer.
My room size is 10.5' W x 13.5'W with 8' ceilings. Would RTi8s or RTi10s be overkill for this size room? I really am considering upgrading the RTi6s to a floor standing speaker. My main interest is in music over HT (about 90%music vs 10% HT).
Bass is not a concern as the Pinnacle Sub provides a fair amount of clean musical bass in this small room. My main concern is mid and high clarity. Would the dual 6.5 mid bass speakers in the RTi8 be a noticeable improvement over the RTi6 that I currently own? Thanks for your suggestions.

Welcome to the forum. In my opinion the 8's would be a better choice and would not be overkill at all. There are alot of people (including myself) who have the 70's (which the 8's replaced) and the sound is excellant especally with a external sub. My room is 19x25x9 and they have no problem filling it with excellant sound even when running in 2-channel stereo.

What kind of music do you listen to? If it's rock, rap or other kind of bass heavy music, go for the RTi8s.

When I went from the RTi38s to the RTi70s in a 13 x 20 room, there was a noticeable improvement, even with a sub. The souns was fuller because the 70s were contributing more bass than the 38s. Thus, I would opt for the RTi8's in your case, not only because you can expect a richer sound, but you may want to plan for the future. Who knows -- you might have a larger room next week or next year or whenever.

Oh yeah, your RTi6's should sound great right now. No reason to change them out if you're happy with them, unless you've got some extra cash and find a great trade-in deal at CC, if that's where you purchased them.

I think you'll probably get a pretty even split on this issue. Some people like the snappy tightness a bookshelf provides, and others like the openess of a floor standing. I prefer the towers to the bookshelfs, but only by a bit. The 6s are a great speaker, and if you are happy, why change? I think, however, that the 8s will open up the sound some, and that is what I like. If you are thinking of 10s, I would suggest the 12s instead, the imaging on the 12s is incredible. I wish I had them.
