Anybody Using a Wall Mount Turntable Shelf?

I need to make room in the rack for a new piece of equipment. The most logical item to move out of the rack is the turntable. Space is tight, the wall mount shelf would need to be within inches of a room corner if it's to remain near the main rack. That seems like a bad idea as a corner might be likely spot for excess acoustical energy. Is that a justifiable concern? Room dependent? Would hate to drill holes in the wall only to find out I've got feedback issues. Anybody have a favorite wall mount or DIY design?

Look into those made by Target Audio Products. Search Target Turntable Shelf. Some put panels into the corners to keep reflections down around their tables.

  • I built an oak box and filled it with sand amounted it to the wall. I leveled the sand and put an 18X18 inch grant tile on top. I put my turntable on top of the tile and I had no issues.

    YMMV
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

I've been meaning to do it and will in the near future. A buddy of mine said he went that way long ago to resolve Thorens issues which he said had problems with him walking through the room. On the wall mount shelf, no issues whatsoever. Plus he has his a a more user-friendly height for TT's.
