The Who at 50

Scored two free tickets for my bride and I to see "what's left of The Who" last night in DC. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Pete's having a throat issue, so he did minimal singing, but he is still the master of rhythm guitar. Windmills, Daltry mike spinning and all they played for 2 hours and 45 minutes and it was all hit after know every word hit. In the end I was glad to have gone (and I started skeptical for sure).
On a side note, Ringo Starr's kid Zak Starkey was on the drums, (that apple didn't even fall close to the tree... or even from the same tree maybe - he's a talented drummer!). Allegedly, Keith Moon bought him his first drum kit as a kid.
Anyway - here's a shot from the cheap seats - no zoom - pretty solid view! I'd check em out if you have the inclination.

+1 on Zak Starky. I saw them at the Shoreline Ampitheater back when Entwhistle was still alive and I couldn't believe how good Zak was on the drums. Fantastic. It may have been the first time Zak toured with them, I can't remember but I was blown away by the whole show, but especially Zak on drums because I had no idea how great he was.
