Sidewinder and diamondback interconnects

With my purchase of Steves pre amp and tuner he was kind enough to send a .5 meter pair of AQ Sidewinder interconnect. Well now my wife is mad at Steve because I had to go buy another pair.;)
That said I decided to go with the Diamondbacks and the question is what do you all think about mixing different interconects? At least their both made by AQ but what should I look out for?

I guess the only thing to look out for is if the Diamondbacks are really much better than the Sidewinders. All you can do really is swap them back and forth between your cd source to pre or between your pre and amp. See if it makes any difference.
It is not uncommon to mix interconnects. While many prefer to go with the same type many also like using different interconnects between the source / pre and pre / amp. I guess the other question would be given a choice where should the "better" interconnect go or are both locations of equal importance? -
I'm running the Diamondbacks between the DAC and Preamp and the Sidewinders connect the pre to the amp. I'm not sure if this is correct but I would imagine the connection between the DAC and pre is far more important than the output stahe of the preamp... but I am just thinking out loud.
Thanks

If I were a betting man, that's what I would put my money on too. Especially if the DAC to pre is a weaker signal gain than the pre to amp. Does a weaker gain equal more chance for interference induced gogglybears?;) Or is it the other way around? I'm no electronics guru here.:D -
Just last night i put in some Diamondbacks I bought from Doro between my pre and amp. it's nice.. but i didn't notice much difference from what I was using before. But i do have the satisfaction knowing that i put in a high quality IC in the final stage of the rig.
I've swapped out IC's from the DAC to the pre before.. that can have a definate affect on sound.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
