Polk LSI 15 for sale for $350 worth the upgrade?

Hello I have a chance to purchase a pair of LSI 15's for $350. I currently have the Rti10s and use my system about 50/50 for music/ht. Would this be a worthy the upgrade? They would be powered by an XPA-5 and I have an SVS 12 plus subwoofer.

I like the Rti10 but they give me listener fatigue and when listening to music. It seems that the Lsi's would do better in that department from what I've read here. They are about a two hour drive from home but for $350 it seems it would be worth the drive.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I have some LSI 15s that I use for Music only in a 2 channel set up. I upgraded from RTi12s. I can tell you that in my system they are very easy to listen to and have done so for hours. I'm using a Marantz preamp and an older model Kenwood Basic M2A that drives those 4Ω speakers to about 300 watts.
I paid $350 for mine and the grills need some attention but they sound awesome and they don't have any upgrades yet, but I have purchased the new woofers for them. But enjoy them as they are just the same.
I use the RTI 12s for the home theater room and they do fine and only occasionally use them for 7 channel stereo.
If you want to solve your listener fatigue I do believe these would help as they are known to be more 'musical' than the RT line. Not sure how the EMO would drive them. That will be what you'd need to check out. At that price you could purchase them and try them out and then re-sell them if they didn't work for you. Just a thought.

The listening fatigue is because the Emo amp is a bit bright on the top end, as well as the speakers. The LSI's are a more laid back speaker and less bright on the top end so it may be better for music. Movies though, it may not be as dynamic as your RTI10'S.

You could go that route, for the 350 bucks you could easily re sell them if they don't float your boat. You can also swap out the amp for a warmer sounding one, for about the same price. Cables will also play a role so a warmer sounding speaker cable/rca interconnects would help alleviate that fatigue you get.

The Lsi have a very smooth, nicely refined sound, that is airy and clear, but never forward or tiring.

I love the Lsi for movies and music.

They may come across as a bit recessed or laid back to some, and I am sure amplification and acoustics will change that characteristic some also.

I believe there's a woofer upgrade for thrm that's known using a polk audio car sub to increase the bass.

Some things to note are that they love a good high current amp to control them and they need room to breath (away from walls). But for that price, go for it. If you don't like them, you should be able to flip them for more.

It is a Polk car sub correct, but it does not increase the bass at all, but reduces the boomy mid/upper bass a decent bit.

This is the one you should use on the swap:
Posted from another poster... not mine:
The DB840s do sound tighter than the stock, which tended to be a bit boomy. Never regretted the swap...
