SDA Damage from connecting as regular speakers?

Is it possible to damage the SDA speakers by connecting and running them as any standard speaker would be connected? I hope that makes sense. I'm curious as to what the answers here will be..
Too many good quotes to list..waiting for some fresh ammo. :)

Without the SDA cable? If so you will be fine, just keep in mind the SDA drivers will be doing nothing, basically your using half of your speaker, but you will do no damage..

The first couple of generations of SDAs had SDA drivers that ONLY received SDA signal. With the SDA interconnect removed, those drivers became little more than additional passive radiators.

This is NOT true for Gen 3, 4, and 5. The SDA drivers also receive a stereo bass signal, so even with the interconnect removed, they're still active in the bass region.

The SDA interconnect is key to compatibility with non-common-ground amplifiers. With it removed, the SDA speakers don't require common-grounding. With the SDA interconnect in place, you MUST have a common-ground amp, or there has to be an isolation transformer inserted into the SDA cable, and only the newest two generations of SDA speakers are compatible with the isolation transformer.

Are you talking about rewiring them so the SDA feature is bypassed completely? I had a set that had this done to them before I bought them. The sounded pretty good, but they were a shadow of what they became with the SDA speakers working properly. Personally I would buy a different speaker if you are not wanting SDA.

When I first got my 2Bs I had the L & R speaker cables hooked to the SDA jacks, and vice versa. They worked, but sounded thin and had very little bass, to the point that I asked the seller if I could have my money back!
He quickly surmised what I had done and suggested reversing the cables, and viola',
instant audio bliss. So you can run them w/o the interconnect without fear.

And yes, the jacks are labeled now...
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?
