WOW...seriously impressed with the PA2000

As some may know, I just bought one of these amps from Carlos, really great guy.

This thing completely recamped my HT setup. I was really impressed with what I had before, as I stated Here.

However, this really brings things to a new level. What I expected was that I would get better bass response as I was feeding the lows more juice. While I am getting better bass, what really improved are the mids and highs.

While I did expect a little improvement, I didn't expect anything near this.

Anyway, that amp is a nice piece of gear, thanks to Carlos for letting it go.

So you are running the PA2000 on the low input, the receiver on the high input? Or is it the other way around?

    Either way sounds cool.

PA2000 is running the lows...I'm gonna try it the other way also just to see which I like better, but I'll probably end up with it the way it is now...

Nice Pm... very nice. Please report back on the swap.

The 2000 is 200 wpc in stereo mode.. yes? What is your AVR's output?

    Tour,

I read the PA2000 is a 4x45 channel amp. Looks like it can be bridged mono 2 channels for 2x100.

I could provide the link I've seen this on if necessary.

    Yup...

Hell, I looked this info up and posted it like two days ago, but already was not sure and was too lazy to surf for it...

But it has an HCC rating that is stout for a 100 wpc amp... 45 amperes...

I'm using one of these for my RTi70s right now, I will be borrowing a second soon to bi-amp them, now that will sound awesome.. well not really cause of my crappy cd player.

I was also thinking of using them in 4 speaker mode to bi amp each speaker with one amp, or something like that.

Interesting thought there. Could come down to the sharing of the current... 45 wpc on the 150's subs just sounds alot more anemic than 100 wpc.

True, however on less demanding speakers I think the dedicated current load to each crossover might be an advantage.

$200 plus $25 shipping to FLA and the good reports above... sounds like a plan to me.

I did switch it around last night, but didn't like it as much. I feel like the amp does a better job of powering the lows than does the receiver...

The receiver has an HC of 45 amperes, but that's across all five channels...

The PA2000 also has 45 amperes, but that's across only 2 channels...so I'm sure that's making a little difference at least in the explosions and stuff.
