Hi all,
I'm looking for a pair of FX1000's. I currently have a CS400 and RT55's for mains.
I was pretty bummed when I learned they were discontinued! If anyone has them and wants to part with them - please name a price. Black would be preferable but its not a hard requirement.
Thanks!

There isn't an active pair there right this minute, but there have been several that have come and gone over the past couple of months.

Well, I found a pair of the old FXi50's this weekend. They only have one 6.5inch driver but its the same one that's on my RT55i's and CS400i.
The tweeter is different, but the timber seems to work with the rest of the system.
I wish Polk would stop dicontinuing products so quickly. Those FXi5's (the replacement model) don't have the same frequency rating as the RTi6's they recommend for rears.
Ideally, I want to set my crossover at 40Hz. The FXi50 can do that while the FXi5's are at 45Hz now (instead of 40Hz). That would have sucked because my next crossover is at 60Hz.
The frequency ratings are probably optimistic, but I at least want *consistently* optimistic!

Yeah... I wish Polk didn't change their models so quickly either. Then again their Rt series are in a highly competitive market that's also cosmetic and convenience driven.Polk Rt800i -Fronts
Polk cs400i -Center
Polk fx500i -side surrounds
Polk rc60i -rear surrounds
Onkyo TX-NR 1009 (9.2) receiver
Velodyne cht12

Cosmetics are one thing, but they changed the frequency spec on the FXi5's. Maybe the 50's drivers are more capable. maybe the 50's never could reach 40 in the first place?
Maybe its a misprint?
Who knows! I paid the full FXi5 price. The new ones are better looking than the 50's but I just couldnt get over the frequency issue... -

Todd:
You should be running an 80 Hz xo for HT applications. Don't push your surrounds/center lower than that.
Because the xo isn't a brick wall, the speakers will still see signal content below that, maybe down to 55-60 Hz; perfect for that size speaker.

I agree Doc. I just wanted the option to give it a try. Here is the whole system:
BenQ PE8700 DLP2 Projector
Yamaha RX-V2400 THX Reciever
RT55i Mains
CS400i Center
FXi50 Dipole Sides
RTi6 Rears
Yamaha YST-SW305 Subwoofer (this thing is horrible!)
I've demoed some higher end speakers, such as Martin Logan, Sapphire T3's, Klipsch stuff. Maybe I'm a meat and potatoes guy, but I can't hear an advantage over my Polks. However, I didn't try music since I'm 100% movies.
