What Have I Done?!?

I'm in the process of completing our HT and this weekend, I was wiring some receptacles. In the process, I fear I may have unintentionally fried the HDMI output on my Anthem MRX-500.
I have our lights and the ceiling outlet (for the projector) in our HT on a dedicated breaker. I have the Anthem on a surge protector plugged into an outlet on a completely different breaker (temporarily). So, PJ and AVR on two separate circuits.
Now, I'm wiring two new outlets and in the process, I cut and stripped the wrong wire... turns out it was one I left for an additional outlet on the same circuit as the PJ. Well, as you can imagine, when I stripped the hot (yeah, I know, I should have confirmed that it wasn't live) It shorted and tripped the breaker. A small crackle, some sparks, and tripped breaker shutting down the PJ and the lights in the room (wife was watching TV at the time). Sound is still playing since the AVR was on a different (unaffected) breaker.
Long story short, I got the new receptacle wired, reset the breaker, and turned the PJ back on. Then, there was no picture (just a screen that said "HDMI 1 - No Signal"). I feared I fried the HDMI input on the PJ. However, after a little trouble shooting, it turns out that the PJ is fine... it's the AVR that's not working right. The HDMI Out is not sending a signal. I confirmed that the PJ is working fine by using the HDMI cable direct to different sources (cable box, Oppo, etc.). So, the PJ and HDMI cable are fine. I further confirmed that the Anthem's HDMI out is NOT sending a signal by using different cables and running direct to different monitors (LCD TV, Projector, etc.). So, I've isolated the problem to the HDMI out on the AVR.
My question is how did this happen? The circuit the Anthem is on was unaffected by the short on the OTHER circuit... Is it possible that when I tripped the breaker on the circuit for the PJ that a surge got transmitted from the PJ back through the HDMI cable to the output on the AVR? All 4 HDMI inputs on the AVR are working fine. I still get sound and the display on the AVR shows the HDMI # input and the resolution of the source. So, it is JUST the HDMI out.
Does anyone know if this could be something simple? I've tried unplugging, powering on, etc., but cannot get a picture from the HDMI out from the AVR. Additionally, It's very difficult to use the Anthem's on-screen menus (without the menus on the monitor)...
Thoughts, encouragement, advice, is welcome!!
Thanks,

I would also check component and composite out on the video. Also, is there some sort of hard reset on the AVR?HT- Samsung PN50B860/Integra DTR 30.3/Rt55 Fronts

2CH - B&K MC-101 pre/B&K EX-442 amp/NAD 2400 amp

I'll look to see if there is a hard reset. Hoping that solves the issue. I'm going to have to figure out how to change the video out using the AVR's on-screen menu. It's so difficult not having access to the full menus that are displayed on the video monitor! Without the HDMI working, I can't see the full menus! Unfortunately, it doesn't automatically switch video output that I can see...
Thanks for the tip!
