I was wondering where you can find something like this. Not a huge Chicago fan but I just remember listening to this and it was not the same band that you heard on studio recordings.
Anyway is there a good place to look for rare vinyl?

Probably cause of the poor sound quality? Chicago at Carnegie Hall went on to become a best selling box set, but the acoustics of Carnegie Hall didn't do it any favors.
I was a Chicago fan until Kath checked out. I have some Japanese pressings of Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago II. Great sounding.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
No they were jamming like a different band all together. Cant say that I really remember the quality of the recording but it wasn't like anything that I had heard from them back around the CTA days.
Look man I am just trying to remember stuff and that is hard! lol -
I am thinking of things that I would like to have on vinyl and I thought there are plenty of vinyl heads that could steer me in the right direction. Here and there a few choice pieces pop into my head that I would like to have. Outside of the MIA's in my current collection it is hard to think of some (love to haves) to get.
Hell give me some suggestions on what I should pursue. -
Is that the white box set ?? I'm pretty sure I have it but I'll look in the AM.

I have some other Chicago I'd be willing to part with, the first few as I recall. I'm probably going to part with some jazz pretty soon also if you're into that. BTW, you probably know this but Amazon Music is a decent place usually to check for used vinyl online, at least you usually get a host of sellers competing, there are a host of others but prices can get up there on some of them.

I have that set in LP and digital. Yes, the sound wasn't what we would consider great but this is one of those examples where one must put aside the sound to simply enjoy the music. Definitely NOT what your hear from Chicago on the radio.
It's like not listening to Bob Marley because of the sound issues. Just not gonna happen.
I will keep an eye out but no promises. I don't recall seeing it at Manifest. Have you tried to contact George? He would probably have a better chance of running into it.
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
When I'm looking for rare stuff, I tend to look on the Discogs marketplace. Like anywhere can be hit or miss but with all the international sellers on there, usually someone has what you're looking for and can be had more reasonably than through a B&M store - at least that's my experience.
Unfortunately, there aren't many great venues for used vinyl online that I have found. Reckless Records out of Chicago used to be great, but has suspended all online sales now...VA HT HK AVR20II, Sony S9000ES CD/DVD/SACD, Polk Audio RC80i / Polk Audio CSi3, 60" Panasonic Plasma, Nordost / Signal Cable A2 / Wireworld / Pangea / Magic Power

Let me know what you have -
In retrospect, Chicago is a band I remember fondly from airplay, never bought any of their stuff.
A couple years ago saw a sad sight on something like audience network on directv.
Chicago was playing in a shopping center and there were only a handful of people even bothering to stand there and listen
BTW, in 1976 I was working at "Great Haircuts Incorporated in buckhead Atlanta, across from peaches record store when Chicago was putting their handprints in the cement walkway.
I was all of 17, and the guys made me run across peachtree and yell, "Any of you guys want a free haircut?"
Everyone stopped in mid sentence and looked at me, and one of the band members looked at me and said "We all just got one"
That was when I tried to melt into the background.
