Homeowner Insurance for Maryland

My brother is buying a condo in Maryland, he is now working in D.C. He said his current homeowner's insurance company in Nebr. does not write policies in MD. Does anyone here, maybe living in the area, have a company they can recommend, or any to avoid? Thank you.

My brother is now a Silver Spring property owner, closed yesterday. He's a Marylander? So if there is a Polkfest 2016 at Polk HQ I will have a nice place to stay if I opt. to attend.
