Good points CNH, I guess to sum it up one has to ask, are you defined simply by your job ? While a job is certainly a necessity in life, I wouldn't say that alone defines ones knowledge base or narrowly describes their ability to be a functioning well rounded person. Education is different thing to different people I guess, as well it should be. The thought of having education fit a one purpose ideology doesn't sit well with me.
Now back to modern art.....

Salvador Dalí rules, I think I will do my whole house in his prints when I retire. Jackson Pollock sucks, I made one this morning. Taco Bell will do that.

The pharmacy that we go to for our prescriptions (old people that we are!) has a Dali clock draped across one of their shelves -- which I thought was most cool.
This sort of thing...

I got that clock today. Best 12 bucks I ever spent! I have no idea where to put it, maybe I will buy a chain and wear it around my neck.

Oh, speaking of Modern Art and museums (musea?), I can heartily recommend the Museum of Bad Art. So big, it (apparently) has two locations! One in Dedham, MA and the other one in Somerville, MA ("the 'ville", or "Slummerville" as it is locally known). The latter is in the basement of the Sommerville Theatre and well worth perusal if you are already at the Theatre anyway to see a concert or something :- )

Yes, St. Petersburg, where Reynolds and Eleanor Morse retired. A pretty extensive collection that spans the early to late history and includes a section that explores the relationship with Walt Disney, and the problematic Destino collab., etc.Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!
