Hi
Looking to set up a bedroom system for two channel only for FM and CD only. Have nice Revox amplifier, FM tuner and CD player but no speakers. Want to go used and have a $500 budget. Any suggestions to check out?
Thanks
Peter

Hi Pete, you should be able to find a vast number of very decent used bookshelf speakers in the $500.00 range. You might even look for a decent little sub for the bedroom. I used to run a used MK V2-B 12" sealed sub years ago , cost about $100.00, sounded fine with bookies.

What wood finish are you looking for?

I like used Focal and Totem in that price range.

I agree with NF on the ELAC's. Andrew Jones has a new line coming out. There's a discussion here on them:

Looks like they got rave reviews and are supposed to retail at $500.
I'd also consider the Gallo CL-2. The CDT tweeter looks interesting. Walter at Underwood HiFi was selling them at a great closeout price of $369. I almost picked up a pair, but they were out of my budget at the time.

Thanks for all your bookshelf speaker suggestions. I need to go on ebay and check for local listings to get a listen. There are many options for $500 bookshelf speakers.
Keep you posted. -
Mantis has a pair of Focal 807v in the for sale section that are beautiful.
