I would care for some of your opinions on a new project. I have moved into the basement of my home and "sold" off the upper 2 floors to a daughter and family...it's complicated but is working very well. I have deconstructed the HT rig that I had downstairs and get a fresh start. I will be using my 4k 65" curved Sammy as a center piece and that's as far as it goes.
I have some options: A full RTI-A set-up with A9 towers or an LSI set-up with A9's as mains and or my big SDA-SRS fully modded with a center and rears from the RTI-A family. Last time I had the SDA's set up I used something from the RTA line for a center and it worked nicely even though the tweeters don't match.
I love all 3 set's. Even though the RTI's would be the logical choice for HT I am leaning towards the LSI's for their compact footprint and sweetness. I just made an inquiry on the availability of the LSI-C in the for sale column and if I don't get it I have seen a photo of Dark Night's older rig where he used a pair of LSI-7's in tandem as a center and I do have a pair of modded 7's sitting idle, I'll use LSI-FX in the back or rear sides.
Even though I am setting up a HT rig I do listen to a lot of tunes and that's where using the big SDA's in the HT rig would be beneficial as I consider them as 99.9% perfect for music and the LSI 9's with my little REL filling in down low is at about a 95%.
So...what's your opinion. Thanks, Michael

Well, if it were me and space was really limited I would go with the Lsi setup. the smallest footprint, and sweet sounding for music. But I am sure those SDAs are bada$$, so I wouldn't blame you for going that route. Being that this is a dual purpose rig, I personally wouldn't use the RTis, just not my preference for music. I have had unmodded LSi7s for a dual purpose rig and thought they were wonderful...I think the 9s would rock and rock with that little Rel sub.
Good luck with the new rig!Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
