Oh yeah, more Dougs cables!!
I started out with a 2ch set up, a pair of analog cables from my CDP to my AVR, then a pair of analog IC's from the AVR to the amp.
The results were very satisfying! I really enjoyed the project and it was educational as well.
I've since completed a 5ch set up now, and once space allows, I will expand to an 11.2 and build the remaining IC's and my own subwoofer cables. And since silver is a better conductor than copper and gold, I'll stay with the silver plated connectors.........why the heck not???
Anyway, it's nice being able to custom make your own lengths, it tidy's up your back end somewhat, so if I may, I'd like to share my results and again, I tip my hat to Doug, "thanks for help making it fun and affordable to get a decent product into a guys set up"

The gold plating would be to prevent oxidation by air exposure. something that happens with copper and silver.

Thanks for the heads up Fisch!!! I guess I'll just have to keep them clean to obtain my superior conductivity

Oxidized silver maintains the same conductivity as shiny. Oxidized copper doesn't. That said, silver imparts a brightness that copper or gold do not. I'll take gold plated copper everyday and twice on Sunday.Political Correctness'.........defined

I'll echo that statement.
I can do silver if it's mixed with copper in a cable but silver connectors never floated my boat for the reasons already stated.
BTW....that center channel is blocking the screen partially....and it's not centered. You good with that ? Would bug me to no end.HT SYSTEM-

Nice job on the cables. Your centre would bother me too and it seems very high. I couldn't help but notice your rears, is one of them hanging off a window?

Good catch Willow, dang reflective screens. They also seem way too close together if ya ask me.
In any event, glad your cable project is working out for you.HT SYSTEM-

Thanks for the kind words. The rears are on stands between the seats and the wall (window). Yeah, they're close, but good in relation to the overall space allowed.
The center? I've been placing it off axis for years. I go back and forth on placement. As far as height, it doesn't block the screen at all from the seated position.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

Nice job on the cables, Geoff!
That project shaped up nicely; very clean back there. I'd love to do this, myself - "proprietary" cable runs. Maybe when I settle my gear and things are semi permanent. I need to setup/build a proper rack, myself.I disabled signatures. -

LOL, hey Michael, great to hear from you!! Yes, no one seems to like my center, but, I've done some rearranging, but not because of peer pressure, just to have my sources on the same shelf. And as a result, my center is, well, in the center
