I know you said preferred but there is a emotiva 3 channel amp in the classifieds. Also a rotel 5 channel in there. Both are nice amps.

This is a little more but what a nice amp for the money. 5 channel, 200 watts @ 8 ohm, 375 watts @ 4 ohm, balanced and unbalanced connections, 74 pounds, designed and made in the USA. I want to say @EndersShadow has this amp? I'm not feeling totally confident on that one, I know one of our regular posters has this amp though. Maybe they will stumble on this thread and tell you about it.

If you really must stay in your budget this one has a little bit weaker of a power supply and "only" 3 channel. 220 @ 8 ohm, 325 @ 4 ohm

Hey Nightfall, that is the same amp Enders has. He and I have been talking a bit lately as I'm about to buy a B&K Reference 200.7, and he's given me a lot of tips and advice. I think that amp would work great for Mr. Sharpe.

I will throw in my shameless plug for my Rotel for sale... It would fit the bill perfectly (5 channel, 12v trigger, 200 WPC/4 ohm), but it may lack the overall power you're looking for to future-proof it. Although, at my Polkie price (PM me if interested), you'd have plenty of that budget left over for some nice ICs. :) It's plenty for me, works perfectly, and the only reason I'm upgrading is for the extra two channels in the 200.7. Completely understand if you're looking for something with more power and wouldn't want to push something on you that isn't exactly what you're looking for. If that's the case, the B&K 200.5 looks like a better choice, and you could probably find one cheaper than that ebay listing.

Also want to add that I have had B&K, Rotel, Carver, and Parasound amps. I will say that the Parasound, B&K, and Rotel all have a similar sound (to me anyway!) - somewhat neutral to a little warm. The Carver is a little bright, but not overly so. I haven't heard Adcom yet, but I can say that Parasound is a great choice.

Well is B&K worth a try??

Yes I need future proof that's why I mention Adcom because they've got some big ones. someone has one and a processor for $750 which is a little high because I don't know what I could get for the processor as I don't need it.

I just like a parasound because it would look cool sitting next to my 1500a:) ya know, 1205 1203 etc.

maybe even two mid sized stereo amps, one bridged for the center and other used for two channels. I lean to parasound because they are nice quality amps, with so many features lol

Couldn't agree more on the Parasound, and wanting your equipment to 'match'! A 1205 would be ideal. The Rotel is definitely a statement piece (as far as looks go) with that heat sync look on the front! Might not appeal to some.

If by chance you got any questions on the Rotel just let me know, but I think you're going in the right direction with a multi-channel Parasound!

I owned a Parasound HCA-1205A for almost ten years. It was a nice sounding multi-channel amp with enough power for my Magnepan IIIas. Just make sure if you do buy one, to give plenty of ventilation above the amp. It can generate quite a bit of heat.

Absolutely. Both (Parasound) are good for the money though.
