Sda-1c recap questions

I'm sorry if this has already been posted but I didn't find it in a search. Can someone point me in the right direction to a list of suggested internal replacement parts (caps, etc). I just got these beauties and they sound great but I don't mind spending a bit and taking them to my local speaker shop to get them sounding their best. All mid drivers and tweeters are sounding great so I don't think I will replace them right now. Mostly interested in getting the internals updated.

    The SL2000's don't sound great, get four RDO-194's. B)

That was the first thing I thought I wanted to do. Then I read a comment somewhere saying it was almost an unnoticeable difference. Made me hesitant to drop $200

That's a bold statement right there. Most are firmly in the much better camp than sl2000's I'd even go so far as to say that person may just have a hearing problem.
  • If you have a hearing loss you may interpret the sl2000 as a more crisp tweeter and the 194's sound as muted, but most like the smoother presentation of the newer replacement.

Contact @westmassguy (Dave). He's done crossovers for a number of Polkies on the forum.
From my experience upgrading to the RDO-194's was a big improvement over the sl2000's. I would not hesitate to make that my first upgrade.
  • I think you all have talked me into the upgraded rdos. Do you guys think I should keep the sl2000s for future resale or just sell them on fleabay and make up some of the difference?
  • There's a market for SL2000's. I'd put them up on Ebay.
