Looking to upgrade to a 7-channel amplifier for the HT, so this one (as much as I LOVE it) has to go to fund the new-to-me amp.

I bought this from Pearsall001 almost exactly a year ago from this thread:

http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/165812/rotel-rmb-1075-5ch-amp

It has performed flawlessly in our HT powering the front 3 and the surrounds. I will get better pictures up soon. (I will be pulling this from our HT next weekend due to some rearranging for a temporary setup for final construction of the front wall of our HT.) Until then, note the pics in Phil's thread. And, nothing against Phil's pictures, but it looks a much better than those pictures show. I touched up most of the scratches and they are hardly noticeable.

Full specs are all over the internet, but in a nutshell, it's THX-Ultra Certified, 120 WPC (8 ohms) or 200 WPC (4 ohms) all 5 channels. It's the silver front model. It has the 12v trigger and works perfectly.

Priced to sell at $450 local pickup near State College, PA. Reasonable offers considered.

I will consider shipping at actual shipping costs. However, at 40 +/- pounds double-boxed, it might get a little pricey though (probably close to $75...)

Hey Al maybe post appr. shipping dimensions, weight, and your zip code. The buyer might be surprised at the shipping price, especially if they have a UPS of FedEx account. I shipped an 80lb 25in cube box from central TX to NC state for $56 and change using my FedEx account. Lots of folks might be able to get the for $40-50 shipping. just a thought...

GLWS! wish I had the spare cash!

Good idea Paul. It'd be shipping from 16801. I figured shipping weight around 43 lbs. and assumed a 24"x24"x12" box, but will get better numbers this weekend. I also thought about building a small crate for shipping it using 1/4" plywood... Might be overkill, but I'd want to make sure it gets to the buyer in the same condition as when it leaves my hands!

My price is negotiable to a certain extent, so if anyone has even the slightest interest, PM me and we can discuss options.

    Thanks - Al

with my FedEx account that ships to me for $42 and change. If only I had the space in the bedroom system I would be tempted even though it would be SERIOUS overkill, but alas I have a custom built media center that is only 17 inches deep inside, so this wouldn't fit...someone seriously needs to snag this fast!

OK, Spent the weekend temporarily relocating our theater 180 degrees in order to construct/finish the front wall with a built in audio rack and possibly subs. Here's a pic of the partial demo:

The Screen and equipment has been moved temporarily to the back of the room:

So, the Rotel has been removed from service... :'(

I cleaned her off and got some higher res photos (some topless)! See next posts...

Alright, as promised, here are some nice pics of the Rotel. Let's get her sold! Condition is 10/10 functionality-wise, and I'd say a very conservative 7/10 cosmetically due to a few scratches as can be seen in the photos.

Let's get this beauty sold, so how about a price drop?!?

I'll do $425. Local pickup near State College, PA, or buyer pays actual shipping and any PayPal fees (or send as gift). Will be boxed (maybe even custom crated) very well!

Unit & power cord weighs 42 lbs. and is 17" wide x 16 " deep (including speaker posts) x 7.5" high. So, figure 24"x24"x12" and upwards of 50 lbs. from 16801. I do not have a business account for shipping, so I ran the above weight/dimensions (insured for $425) and arbitrarily picked Austin, TX (since it seems like a lot of Polkies are from the Lone Star State).
    • UPS Ground - $67.45
    • FedEx Gound - $59.07
I will list this locally on CL later this week at a much higher price. But, since I got this from a Polkie, I'd like to see it go to another Polkie. Let's keep it in the family...

OK, this is now listed locally for a much higher price. To 'keep it in the Polk family', I'll go one last "Polkie Only" price drop to my rock bottom...

$400 local or plus shipping (CONUS) & PP fees.

I'll even throw in those awesome ;) Rocketfish ICs in the photo. Nothing great, but still around $25 in cables...

    Let's do this!

This has been on here way too long. I'm finally jumping on it. Upgrading from RB-985, hoping it is a step up.

How big is the B&K you are upgrading to? Must be a monster

Sale Pending to Chris (cdn5003) - a local Polkie. Was good talking with you yesterday. Look forward to meeting you tomorrow. I'm confident you'll like this amp. I know I'm struggling with parting with it, but have to in order to fund the upgrade.

I'm going with a Reference 200.7. Yeah, it's a bit bigger (around 80 lbs...), a little more power (200WPC), and 7 channels vs. the 5 in the Rotel. It will be nice having one amp for all my speakers. It came highly recommended by several others around here!

    YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remind me and I will email you all the goodies I have regarding that amp (electronic copy of owners manual and service manual.....)

PS just so you know... I'm friggin jealous of you lol... you've got 2 more channels of awesome ampage than I do...

A random thought is if you build REALLY big boxes that dont need a LOT of power..... you could use the extra 2 channels for subs and go 5 channels of speaker + 2 of subs.... heheheh

    Dan,

Many thanks to you my friend! It was at your recommendation I even considered the B&K. You've been a tremendous help and continue to be. I should be picking up the B&K in the next few weeks. I'll let you know when it's in it's new home. Unfortunately, with our HT temporarily rearranged (and at the snail's pace I do work around the house), it will be some time before I get it properly installed and set up.

Still looking for tips on a built-in sub or two. Posted a thread in the DIY section, but haven't gotten any replies. Perhaps I posted in the wrong section. I need some serious 'hand-holding' designing and selecting the proper parts for the built-in. In the meantime, I'll frame it and leave empty space to install boxes. I figure I can probably get upwards of 4 C.F. per sub box at 15" wide x 20" deep x 24" high.

This forum while great for many things, isnt known for its DIY prowess... as much as I hate to say this...

I'd head over to the DIY section at AVS where you will find folks who build subs just for giggles, and then build 4 diff types of boxes for them lol...

So they might be able to better point you in the right direction.

We can chat later about my thoughts, but AVS has folks with more knowledge than I there.

Haha I know the feeling rooftop! It is really tough to resist hoarding gear sometimes when prices are good.

Very nice meeting Al last night. Hooked the Rotel up last night. All good so far. I'll calibrate the system and give it a workout this weekend.

Do I leave feedback here? Great transaction

Yep unfortunately this is our only feedback system. Basically folks just build up a good rep through positive translations and people getting to know them. Kinda old school, and one of the reasons why many of us like this forum so much and stick around.

Al is a nice dude and a great member. Glad y'all worked it out!

Yup..... I get a small high from it that helps me ward off my own temptations to buy gear....

And then I know if I really need a piece of gear who has one of X and I can try to get it from them hehehe....

Finally sold huh. Was so hard to avoid the temptation. I would come to this thread almost every other day to see if it got sold. Thanks cdn5003. I'd have bought it but shipping was the concern and wife wouldnt have been very happy if I bought another gear before we move to a bigger place. someday... sooon...

It did! I completely understand where you're coming from with the shipping and the WAF with gear. :) This was one of 4 amps I sold or will be selling. Replacing with one amp... trying to simplify. And keeping the wife happy is part of the reason I sold 4 to buy one... (otherwise, I'd have only sold one to buy one)!

Exactly. But I came home with a DVD-A/SACD player (Yamaha DVD-C750) yesterday. Wife was not so happy. But I told her I only paid $50 for it. So, she was not so pissed. I have been contemplating on a 2 or 5 channel amp and was going to jump on this one. I don't like having a stack of gear too. Just one amp is good for me. Will need to wait a little bit more. Good luck with your new amplifier my friend.
