Import CD'S are they a trustworthy vendor?

Hey all after seeing that H9 (Brock) recommend Jazz At The Pawnshop and how good it sounds on SDA'S he convinced me enough that it's a worthy purchase so I just had to have it. I searched for the 30th Anniversary edition 3 SACDS and a Dvd, the best deal I found on this box set was at Import CD'S.

I went through the process of registration and proceeded to put it in my cart and make the purchase along with a couple of other selections, with pay pal, for some reason a message appears that says unable to make transaction that there is an issue with the Vendors PP acct. I tried a credit card and a message appears that the transaction was unable to be processed due to the CC company, tried with another CC same results. I took all my payment information out of my new acct and said screw it and ordered it on Amazon instead paying more of course, the next thing I know I'm getting emails from both CC companies fraud prevention department.

I called both companies and was told that suspicious activities were noticed however the transactions were cancled by both and I was told it may just be a website issue. I was going to get a couple of items from them they were having a sale and thier prices were pretty good but needless to say I couldn't make any purchases. I was wondering, has anyone bought anything from Import CD'S with out any problems?

Same has happened to me with CD Japan while trying to buy shm-sacd direct from them. My cc company also told me the same. I even went so far as to get a new cc from different bank to find the same thing. I even tried pp from my bank account and it would not go through. I've resigned to just buy off eBay from U.S.A. sellers and have never been able to get many I really want.....

I've made purchases from them many times and never had an issue. Through Amazon and their website.

About two weeks ago,I had the same issue with CD Japan using Paypal. I removed items from my cart and rebooted my laptop and started over and had no problem. I don't know if the problem was with the website or Paypal. I've used CD Japan before with no problems.

I've made many purchases and they've always delivered quickly and without issue. I pay with a CC.

Maybe it was an issue with their website, I still have an account and I might try them again as they had some good prices. It did freak me out trying 3 different means of payment and none of them working. I called both CC companies again today credits were issued one had the same charge 3 times and was credited 3 times kind of strange I guess. Amazon already shipped my Jazz At the Pawnshop SACD's so all is good.

I buy CDs and other things from all around the world and just about every time I make an international purchase I get a call from my credit card company wanting to know if I really placed an order with them. It's all part of their fraud prevention/identity theft deterrent programs. Nothing to get upset over.

Any time you buy anything using a credit card or PayPal your purchase is guaranteed by their buyer's protection plan. That's why they double-check the purchases to see if they are legitimate because it's their azzes on the line if you get ripped off.

I buy items from around the globe all the time, not once have I been contacted by a credit card company or PayPal about it. Guess my credit is better.

I agree with Jesse... when my credit sucked and I had to use prepaid cards, I got calls all the time. Credit Carma.com might be a great place to go to get things fixed.

I buy things from around the world on many occasions. Both PayPal & my CC companies contacted me the first couple of times I bought from a new vendor.
Once they understood my spending habits, it stopped.

CC fraud algorithms ain't perfect yet, but I don't have a problem when they err on the side of caution.

Yeah but I don't have a credit problem every time we finance a new vehicle when they come back from wherever they go they say wow great credit score so yeah that's not the problem. I to buy stuff from all over the world with the wife being from Germany we buy a lot of stuff from the .DE sites and Amazon,DE I think it might of been an issue with their website as one of the error messages read cannot process payment at this time as the vendor was unable to accept paypal even though their site says they accept it.

I don't have a credit problem either and have had the same credit card since 1984 but still get a call when they see a charge pop-up to Croatia or some other foreign country I normally don't buy from. Most of the CDs I buy are indie labels (modern surf/instro-mental) and also a large percentage are direct from the artists.

I don't mind being contacted. It's kind of nice to know my credit card company is looking out for me. Usually after I buy something from a source I don't get another call if I buy something from them again.

Well I wish they allow or call to see (CC bank) both told me they would not allow because of the amount of fraud. One is my credit union I am able to walk in and talk to since I've work for the same company for 28 yrs. Still said no. That was when I went to a different bank to get a card since they (banks) are sending 4-5 a week to get me to apply for their card since my credit rating is in the high 800's almost perfect they tell me. That was when I tried to use pp from a account that is only used for pp it never has any funds in it unless I buy something and them I transfer the funds into it. It is not connected to any other account still pp denied the transaction. Funny thing is once I bought 3 ringtones for the pultry sum of 1.00ea. And my credit union was all over that as fraud...good grief LOL.
