    Welcome ...

Post or PM me your e-mail address and I can send you a pdf of the schematic for the A1 interconect. It's for use with non-common ground amps. If your amp is common ground, just leave out the transformer...

Thanks tour2ma for your help on the 1c pin/blade connecter.
By the way, the 6511 drivers are in. Polk has them in stock as of 3/17. Thanks again.

    Hi Guys,

I've got a question regarding SDA-1Cs and the interconnect cable. Perhaps you could clear up some confusion I'm having.

I bought my 1Cs new and have the original interconnect cable. What I'm confused about is the connections are blade/blade, not blade/pin.

Do I have some sort of fluke?

I'd like to make a very long interconnect. Do you know where I can find the blade/blade connectors?

    Thanks in advance.

I am unsure of what 6511's you have purchased, but they are not in stock to the best of my knowledge. CS stated an April window of availability.

The blade/blade is still available from Polk, but that would be stock length. If you wish to manufacture your own, one that is longer, then all you need is speaker wire, and a couple spade terminals.

That would be very odd, as my 1C's have pin/blade. Are you sure you have 1C's? I know you bought them new, it's just to confirm. Pop your PR out, and look at the crossover....there should be a model designator on the board. I found mine to be different from the SDA1C schematic, tho' it is an SDA1C. I have all the schematics for SDA's, drop me a line if you would like to go piece by piece. You may simply have a "thrown" together speaker, which in those days, would not be uncommon.

    Hi,

Thanks again for your assistance. I think I'll start looking for some suitable spade terminals to make a DIY interface.

    Here's a photo of my Polk Audio SDA-1C. You'll see that it's a genuine SDA-1C.

Since my posting I did more research and found an old Polk communication at The McGowan Bros. Polk/SDA Page

The document entitled "INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE SDA NON-COMMON GROUND AMPLIFIER INTERFACE" states:
NOTE: Some early units of SDA-1C and all units of SDA-1B require plug adapters and some internal modification of the crossover to be used with the Non-Common Amplifier Interface. the effect SDA-1C units can be identified by serial numbers as

    Right Channel #6001 through #6310 and #6501 through #6678
    Left Channel #5975 through #6370 and #6532 through #6656

My serial number are #6065 and #6053 respectively. So it looks to me that the early SDA-1Cs not only can't be used with the A1 Interface without modifying the crossovers, (like the other older SDAs) but they also are fitted with the older blade/blade interface connections.

    Thanks for your interest.
