I just saw these in today's Central Jersey C/L. they are Dyna Audio SDA 2.8 speakers. There are real Polk SDA models for sale but this caught me by surprise. Is there a trade mark infringement here or is SDA a scientific name for all to use ? Other wise some ok speakers this month going on.

It may be that Polk trademarked "Stereo Dimensional Array" but not "SDA" and/or the trademarks may have lapsed at some point in the ensuing decades -- just speculating, though.
It' s also possible that the company in question just decided to use the letters and wait for a "cease and desist" letter that might, or might not, have ever come.
EDIT: Well, a data point. Looks like "Stereo Dimensional Array 1" and "SDA-1" were trademarked, according to the manual at http://www.polksda.com/pdfs/SDA1.pdf
Perhaps (?!??) Polk only trademarked specific model names. Perhaps.
That said, there are probably a dozen folks here who know the answer and won't just be speculatin'... at this point, I'll defer to true experts.

The little bit of research I did, indicates the Dynalabs are "white van" speckers

Awesome, white vanners, I knew something was amiss here. They do play on manufacturers models and nomenclature a lot it seems one must be very vigilant when buying stuff on C/L and as we know very rarely will there be an honest deal in a parking lot. Dynalab certainly are not Dynaudios...lol Here's a big list of w.v.
