Frank @ Signal Cable has been around for some time and produces great stuff for the $$.

    http://signalcable.com

When you cash out in paypal, put in the notes section that you're a Club Polk member and you'll get a bit of a discount refunded back to you.

I would pass all day long. If you want some cables made, contact Doug. If you are on a strict budget, wait for some PNF cables to hit the market or look for some used MIT/Wireworld. MIT/WW might be hard to find even used in that budget.

I highly doubt there are Nakamichi 'dupes' out there as he suggests. Nakamichi is too cheap to make any money making knock-offs. The fact that he offers a multitude of colors also turns me off. You truly are looking at bottom of the barrel components with an emphasis on eye candy to sell them.

    Dskip,

Have you heard them or are you basing judgment of what you see on the site?
    What are PNC cables?

    Thanks

    Upstatemax,

Do you know what the discount % is?

    Thanks

PNF is a brand of cables no longer made but still live on the used markets.

I see nothing special here with the Schmitt cables....aside from the color variations. Might as well just buy Monster cables imho. I think Signal cable gives us a 5% discount btw.

Nothing short of a few hundred brands of cable makers out there. You won't find too much variance between them in the ultra budget price ranges. Most use the cheapest basic wire covered in fancy jackets with shiny plugs on the end that are brass or some other cheap metal. Appearances are everything to some, and apparently work well too.

The better brands to look at are Kimber, Audioquest, MIT, Analysis Plus, Acoustic zen, Morrow, Harmonic technology, Cardas, Straightwire, Wireworld, and a cast of hundreds more. Budget wise, Signal cable or Bluejeans, Canare, Reality cables....but many of the better brands also carry budget lines too.

Agreed Skip, but they did take the time to make them look slick and put up a fancy web page. Like dangling a shiny lure in front of a fish.

for one Nakamichi don't make any of those like he suggests. They are all made by the same Chinese company. I emailed Nakamichi about it and they told me they didn't make or get any money from those. I asked why they didn't bring forth a lawsuit? Their response "Have you ever tried to trace down Chinese shell companies its a vast waste of our money for nothing gained".. Its the same reason audioquest don't sue for all the counterfeits for its cables. They know when you do business in China this is the monster you deal with. The same company that makes your cables will also sell them out the back door, that is why most companies finish their product and packaging in the U.S. it makes it a little harder for them to get braided sleeve and packaging correct. I don't see anything special about these cables. I've used the "nakamichi" banana's in a DIY cable and they aren't bad. Typical middle of the road stuff that works well enough.

Support Doug's Cables or Signal Cable. They have a proven track record, use quality materials and stand behind what they sell; and they are in the "family".

Has anyone used any of the Furez cables?
I am looking to order the 12-4 and/or the 10/2 and make my own cables.

Not true... I have photos of Nakamichi plugs from Nak and the ones on eBay sold in the US
The left plug is from Nakamichi... No difference?

Keith if you wanted to try a set of Schmitt Custom Audio Cables out you could have just asked me. The only critics I have are the people who haven't experienced them and obviously plugging other cables.
