6C45pi Tube question

What is the equivalent to 6C45pi? I have seen some gold pin eh but there doesn't seem to be too many options on this tube. Any sound difference between the sovteck and eh gold pin?

On ebay I saw some Reflector and some ebay.co.uk/itm/2-pcs-matched-NOS-GOLD-pin-6S45P-E-audiophile-tubes-WE437-6C45P-6C45Pi-/121843610998?hash=item1c5e71f576:g:qIwAAOSwBahVT7ui

This tube is completely new to me for a preamp. Anyone know what is the better of this type?

did you google? While I'm no genius in this the EH seems to be re-branded Sovteck as both of the tubes I seen had the UFO getter and looked the same also said "made in Russia"

according to this the EH is the premium version of the sovtech because it has gold pins.

EH are made in Russia, under the New Sensor brand, IIRC.

Russia and China are the only players in New tube production. We lost St. Petersburg Russian plant, so no more SED =C= tubes.

If you've googled it and come up empty, that's all I can do. All my info comes from Goggling. Tireless Goggling in many instances. I am not familiar with the 6C45Pi tube.

Thanks all. I didn't know if anyone had any experience with that tube or actual audible differences on this tube in a preamp. There is a little bit on info and some say they prefer Reflector vs the sovteck but, on a lot of them to watch it because of them being out of spec.

A preamp I have coming uses one 6C45pi per channel in the gain and mu-follower is the 6350 dual triode 6350 per channel.

Thanks for the link Pitt!! ", EC8010, 3A167M, 437A, 417A/5842 and etc that could be used but they will give you different output power and gain."
Because it is a gain tube on the pre, that statement might be an issue. Not sure yet. I need to get my ears on the pre first ( hopefully this weekend) but, I wanted to research my options.

I know nothing about these, either, save for reading the same references already cited above (and a couple of others).

Here's a datasheet that I just now found with some English on it.
    http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/sheets/112/6/6S45PE.pdf

The two things that I read about this tube (the 6C45П, that is) indicates that it has a (very) high amplification factor and suggests that it's also somewhat subject to oscillation. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/tubes-valves/25130-6c45pi-sonic-utopia-sonic-hell.html

These two factoids suggest that they might be kind of touchy in hifi applications.

As an aside, I imagine you all know about this tube information "portal" at the Duncanamps site, but, in case you don't:
    http://tdsl.duncanamps.com/tubesearch.php

TDSL had nothing on the 6C45П, though :-/

That was a good read. "Originally posted by Silver Stealth
    it was also pretty microphonic.

This suggest you had oscillation. The 6S45 is about as dead sonically when pinged as it gets. If it's microphonic, you have oscillation, trust me."

That makes sense on why the oscillation portion. I didn't realize the different heater voltage would make that much of a difference on the same tube. I learned a few things from that thread.

The preamp is supposed to be here Saturday so I will be able to get a good listen to it on Sunday. The combo of 6C45pi & 6350 should be interesting.
