monitor 60 series 2 tweeter

Hi my monitor 60 tweeter just blew. I have a Sony str-DH520 reciever. I purchased from newegg 3 weeks ago .is it the speaker or is there a compatibility issue.

    Unfortunately oftentimes when a tweeter blows it's because the amp has been overdriven into clipping. That sends a HUGE amount of high frequency distortion and heat straight to the tweeters. Music has an amazing ability to mask large amounts of distortion. I have been at more than one persons house over the years when they decided to crank to the tunes and I had to ask them to turn the volume down,because of the distortion I was hearing (*I am VERY sensitive to it*)They had no clue what I was talking about,because they themselves could not detect it. They would ALWAYS call me crazy until the protection circuits for the tweeters shut them down. Then they came back on once the volume was turned down. Inevitably in a few weeks or months I would hear from that same person saying they blew their tweeters!
