SB1 vs SB1+
8 months ago I purchased the SB1 play-fi system for my house and it has been great! I've read a ton of reviews about people having issues with WiFi and it cutting out from time to time which I'm glad to say, have not affected me at all. Not here to brag about that, but rather comment on the new SB1+ which has a feature that SHOULD be made available to all those folks who already own an SB1; legit 5.1 surround that allows you to pair speakers for rear sound. I do love my sound bar, but this was a major let down when I first acquired it and I was told that it was in the works so I just thought I would hold tight. From everything I've read online and heard at CES was that this functionality will only be made available for the new SB1+ which seem ludacris! The system hasn't even been out that long to become obsolete and seeing as how the sb1 and sb1+ are the same price, why would anyone buy an sb1 moving forward? (maybe that's the plan for Polk?).
I hope that I'm wrong and this functionality will be made available to all those customers who have recently/already purchased an SB1 via the update that is forthcoming in Spring of 2016. Sadley I don't think I am. If anyone has any news about this, I'd love to hear it!

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. I've forwarded your concern to Polk and will be happy to post the response. Keep in mind Baltimore has been pummeled by a recent snow storm so I don't know when I'll get a response. But, hang in there, Polk always tries to do the right thing.

I'm in 100% agreement SPCOPE
What has changed between the two speakers? Your website specs are identical other than a Bluetooth dongle that I can add to my system anyway. My soundbar is a true 3.1 with voice adjust. What actually changed in the hardware that a firmware update can't allow the app to coordinate.
I can run sound out of all 5 speakers (SB1 and two S2's) simultaneously and the SB1 is rated for 5.1 so it according to your specs can differentiate the individual channels, so again I must ask why can't it support 5.1 surround with rear speakers through the app?

Hi there,
Did you ever hear back on this? I am looking at using the SB1 and 2 S2's in a surround, left and right rear config. Did the update allow this to happen?
Thanks,
Bill
