    I have never used one but the vacuum is underneath so after you clean it you just flip it over...but would it not drip all over everything until its vacuum dry?

    the VPI which cost 3x as much vacuums from the top...just something that I noticed but it may not be a problem at all.

    It's like a manual turn version of a Nitty Gritty. Some NG models had a drain tray option. It used taller footers and a tiny tray that slid in slots between wood blocks mounted underneath to catch the dripping fluid.

    With a standard Nitty Gritty, slide it over the sink and pull the plug so it can relieve itself, wipe when its done and reinsert plug.

    I believe audio advisor has videos on how that one is used. There are a few mods out there for it as well. I was also considering one and was researching it. For $200, it seems like a ok unit.

    I've been using a record doctor for about a month now. I've never used the more expensive automatics, but I've been happy with the RD for the price. Definitely better than air dry, or wiping with microfiber. Fewer ticks and pops. My biggest complaint is that the vacuum slot doesn't extend all the way to the lead in groove. It does have a drain plug on the bottom, which is convenient.
