Trying to find a proper matching center

Hey folks. New to the forum. Just started a new setup am trying to find the correct timbre matched center speaker. Here is what I have for my 5.1 setup:

Receiver: Denon AVR-S710W
Front Towers: 2 Polk Monitor 65T
Surround Towers: 2 JBL Northridge E80
Subs: 2 Polk PSW111

My original plan was to use the CS20 for my center. However they are near impossible to get up here in Canada or they are discontinued (as is the Polk 25C). I can get the CS10 no problem however I've read in quite a few places I would be disappointed with this speaker. I called Polk and they also recommended all these speakers along with the Monitor 15C (Can't find anywhere). He also mentioned that if I had no luck I could try the TSX150C. Now this speaker I can also get no problem and looks like my number one choice as of now. Does anyone have any experience with this setup (Monitors and TSX150C)? Also the CSR or and of the CSi series are readily available. My understanding is that none of these 3 would be an exact timbre match but would I be able to tell a difference? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • I ran across this thread doing some searching for center channel choices. I have the Polk TSx330 towers and looking to replace a pretty decent Yamaha center for a Polk match. Most have steered me towards the CS2 as well. According to Polk CS, it would match my speakers just fine. I also looked at the TSx150c as a series match. In my research, the TSx150c and the CS10 have identical specs. Seems like the same speaker to me. Also, the CS20 is an updated version of the CS2. Might have better luck finding one of those.
