Finally able to construct my new rack. Solid oak, steel supports, vibration dampening. My 2nd stereo amp is on loan right now, so there's a hole in the rack for now. Please enjoy!!pr89ei8dqssn.jpg

For the damping, nothing too fancy or expensive, but where each post or leg attaches to a shelf, top and bottom, there are the adhesive felt pads in between. These I purchased at Costco, the same stuff you'd put on chair legs to slide across the floor-ish. They're pretty thick and cushy.

The Emotiva CD player is playing nicely. I've posted my homemade speaker cables on here before, I'm now looking at making my own analog interconnects. Parts and bits purchased from Douglass connections same as my speaker cables. Dude has decent product that doesn't kill the bank, and he's great to work with.

One big help, is having proper lengths. Having meter long cables where you should be using 1/2 meter makes a big difference in clean management.

I'd recommend starting there with the length of cable you use, it makes a world of difference.

Ken, you ought to come over and check out the new CD player. It's not the best but it plays nicely!

I don't know if it's better, but you can hear a difference. The Oppo is digital, the Emo is analog in this set up.

    Both are very nice.

Right on Neil, I'll post pics of my interconnects and steps it took me to get there.

You'll do fine on your rack! The beauty of building racks is, if you don't like the one you've made, you can always make a new one!!!

I really like the way the Emotiva gear looks and how its built. I was thinking about ordering the XPA-2 or two XPA-1 amps this November ( I know that's a ways out). I haven't heard the gear in person but they offer 30 or 60 days return policy.

I install Krell, Classe, Rotel, <other high end gear> all day, everyday, and I just want something different at home that I don't see at work.
How is that XPA-2 you have? Anything you don't like about it?

Yeah, I don't like how heavy it is when I have to move it :#

Plug and play baby, my A9's are built like tanks, and these amps give em all the power they need!!!!!
