Hello fellow forumers - I have a question for the more experienced

I recently bought 2 - 12'' Momo 2124 Subs, and i am in search of an amp that will push them. Through my work i am able to get The Polk lineup of amps (the carbon series) at a substantial discount of retail. My question is - how good are they? Would something like an MTX Thunder942 do a better job?

Your help is appreciated.

Alex-

i would say that polk amps are better than mtx amps
but the polks are pretty pricey

Superman - As i said, i can get them through my job, at a substantial discount off MSRP (the c500.1 monoblock amp for 185.48)for example. If i planned on running two of that sub, what combination of sub/amps would you suggest??

    thanks

Swerve - when you say you sometimes wish it were something else what do you mean? Do you wish it had more power? Better efficiency? what? Would you reccomend my getting that sub to power 2 - Momo 12'' Subs (model # 2124)?

i recomend the subs and amp.... I mainly wish it had more power, but part of my problem may be my trunk.

man.....$185 for that amp is a great deal!
    but i would get 2 c300.2's instead on 1 c500.1
the 500.1 puts out 500x1 at 2 ohms
so youre getting 250 to each sub thats rated at 400 watts
    the 300.2 puts out 550x1 a 4 ohms
now it is 150 watts more than what you need
but 150 more watts is better than 150 less watts
youll just want to keep your gain on the amp down a little bit so you wont overpower the sub too much
