Simple, they're ripping people off sending bad checks and disappearing. How can I mess with them?
Good Morning, Thanks for your quick response, Actually am not in the state and due to my work frame l won't be able to come around to pick it up in person. I believe am OK with the condition as seen on the advert as well as the price stated. I am ready to make instant purchase and my mode of payment would be a Certified Bank Check via Postal service Express mail or US Postal Service delivery.
I'll arrange for a local pick up as soon as you receive check, cashed it and have your money in hand, I promise you everything will go smoothly as I would like to have it before my wedding which comes up in a week time. Kindly get back to me with your full details below:-
Full Name:
Address: Not P.O.BOX

As soon as we receive your information, payment will be mail out with tracking number sent to you. I will also add additional $50 for holding it for me till you receive the Check. Please delete the posting from CL today
Thanks and I hope we handle this in good faith while waiting to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Jorge Herrera

I don't know, doesn't seem like he/she will offer you any personal info. You could ask for a mailing addy (NOT a PO box haha) and a phone number (for texting of course) and say that you need to verify that info first before he gets your info. Of course he's just going to stop talking to you at that point. Unless you have a way of tracking his ISP addy I am not sure how to mess with him...but best of luck!!!Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Looks like one I got for an ad selling my mountain bike. I screwed with the guy for awhile but in the end he gave up after about 4 emails and during this time reported the email for scamming.
Was fun just messing with the guy. Even sent him pictures of a totally different bike and he was like looks great now give me the info. Lol.
Seeing they would be sending a bad check etc there isn't much you can do besides reporting the info. If you would deposit the check the bank will normally charge a fee for a returned check so you would be out money that way as well. -
Tell him you will give to him for free since he's such a nice guy.

The funny thing is this was the second response. The first response I replied withSure! But only if you promise to mail me a bad cashiers/postal check and then have me wire you money afterwards. Sound like a deal?
...and they still emailed me what's in the OP, LOL!afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Tell him he can "honeymoon" at your house for a small fee of $100K in the form of a cashiers' check. Since your work time frame means that you WILL be in your state the price includes a complimentary continental breakfast!Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

I did that a few years ago.
Yes, it was a Craigslist ad.
They actually mailed me the check. I took it to the LAPD Bunko Division and gave it to the. Never heard another word. The cops probably just shitcanned it. -
CL ads get hit up ever so often. Seems to always be a Gmail account? I just report it as a scam to the CL reporting link and call it a day. Must make them money or they would not do it? So they want you to provide the item name.....last line of ad. Much easier to keep track of your scam ads this way I suppose. You could provide them the information of a neighbor you dont like....that may be fun.
