I hate driving in your state. What the * is up with EVERYONE sitting in the left passing lane and never getting over on the two lane highway going to Phoenix? Seriously.

I understand Marylanders operate vehicles in much the same way?

Since I've only been there once in the last 25 years, my opinion is based mostly on posts I've seen here.

It's a retirement state....just like Florida, same drivers.....same B.S.

I hear you...Phoenix is a terror, especially for red-light running. It gets a little better as you move South; Tucson, then Cochise county is the least worst. There's just idiots everywhere, though I have found Texas to be pretty good--a nd we have done alot of driving in Texas.

Texas:
Driving from town to town or city to city most do very well about getting over to let faster traffic to move on.
San Antonio has the slowest freeway drivers
Austin has the worst fwy system because it really doesn't have one
Dallas is just all over the place
Houston: For as large as it is and shear number of people has done well with there fwy system once the new 290 and 45south expansion is completed

Arizona has adopted the law that cites slow drivers in the fast lane, but that would probably consume 90% of their day...WE also have the "Stupid Motorist" law which makes flash flood crossers who get stuck, pay for their own rescue, and get a ticket for ignoring "do not cross wash" signs.

I don't mean that there was just the occasional car sitting indefinitely in the fast lane, more like 7-10 cars all following each other in the fast lane with NOBODY in the right lane. I would pull into the right lane and have plenty of room to pass all of them before running into another vehicle in the right lane. I've never seen anything like it, this happened over and over.

That is the same in Louisiana. More annoying is that the truckers don't follow the rules there either.
