7.1 front height speaker upgrade
I just upgraded 5 of my HT speakers to TSi400 fronts, CS10 center and TSi200 surrounds. I was using RM101s in my 7.1 setup with a RM7 center. I'm currently using a pair of RM101s for the front height, but since I'm in the upgrade mood I figured I might as well replace those too. I was thinking about some TSi100s or another pair of TSi200s. Then I saw a post where someone mentioned the OWM5s. The price difference between these isn't an issue. What I'm wondering is whether the TSi200s would have any improvement in audio quality when used for front height speakers. Also would the OWM5s work well with the TSixxx speakers.

I know speakers are supposed to be timbre-matched across the front 3 (L, R, & C) but I'm not sure if that applies to front height speakers?
If it were me I would go with something small and less obtrusive, basically assuming these height/wide channels don't get a lot of information sent to them.
My bro-in-law has the TSi400s for his mains in a 5.1 setup, and they sound pretty good for their size and price point. I see no reason why the OWM5s would not work in your current setup either. So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I see no reason either. What I do see is a need to swap out that center for the CS20, a better match for those fronts.

I was originally going with the CS20, but a few things made me change my mind. One was it was too big for my location. I have an entertainment center and it was too tall to place below the TV or put it into the cubbyhole above the screen. Another was that in my research the CS10 worked better with the TSi100/200/300/400 and the CS20 was more tailored for the TSi500. I could see the CS20 working with any of the towers but it was mute point in my case. Finally, I found the CS10, new, for under a hundred bucks, to my door. I think the retailer was closing out their inventory.

Just to close this thread out. I found some NOS Monitor 40s for a good price so my budget 7.1 setup is complete.
