Woot! Scored a pair of Sanus Ultimate Foundations

Seller didn't know what kind of stands they were, so they didn't show up in a search. Not a giveaway price, but more than fair considering what else is out there for the same money. 26" tall ones. My recently acquired LSI7's will be getting a new perch.

I had a set of those with SDA CRS +'s and they are amazing. The spikes are like weapons.

Was using a cheap pair of MDF stands that were part of a package deal with other speakers I had bought long ago. Too tall and could probably be blown over with a strong wind. Now I'm trying to decide what to fill them with. Sand, shot or a combination of the two. I think if I fill them with only shot, I'll probably end up spending more for the shot than the stands. Any recommendations for an inexpensive local source? I have a Cabelas not far from me, but that's probably not going to be inexpensive.

the sand i buy at Lowe's for my kids sandbox has lots of peddles in it and its pretty dense. I would be inclined to try that first and see howe you like it. I've done sand in quality steel stands in the past and it was SOLID!

It would take an incredible amount of shot to fill the columns. I used a mix of shot and sand. 25lbs. of shot per stand, divided between the 3 coulmns plus the sand results in some heavy mofos.

You will find trying to get shot into the columns a challenge, it's slow going. I drilled out the plate wings at the top to speed up the process.

Good get! I'm lovin' my UF26's here, too! They are the perfect stands for the LSiM703s. Mine are filled with sand and they are very solid, about 25# each.
